Back to the Basics

It’s time to stop procrastinating and start working on the “serious” blog again.
For almost the past year, I picked up a side gig, an unpaid side gig, that really took up my time. I’m grateful for the experience though.

Since that’s been done, I’ve been procrastinating working on the big blog again by posting on my personal blog.

Speaking of, for the personal site, I thought of different names for a related Instagram page dedicated just to art. I’ve been playing around with AI art generators recently and most of them have just been sitting on my computer.

I’m back at it though.

I decided to go back to the basics and follow along with a tutorial video on Bluehost and WordPress by “Create WP Site” on YouTube.

I thought of some taglines for the site with the assistance of Bard and ChatGPT.

Right now, I’m using the Yith Wonder theme on my site. Do I want that? Did I choose that last before or was it chosen by default? This preview doesn’t seem to help much either.
I do, however, remember searching for themes that display posts in several columns similar to some other sites I researched. “Yith Wonder” doesn’t look like that. I’ll probably change it.
I did change it. There are a lot of themes to choose from though. Good luck to all who enter WordPress theme land.

Plugins to consider adding

  • Elementor
  • WooCommerce
  • Yoast SEO
  • Ninja Forms
  • Shared Counts
  • Wordfence
  • Envira Gallery
  • One Click Demo Import
  • Mailchimp for WordPress

The YouTube tutorial was pretty good though. I feel more comfortable going into launching this blog.
